SWEET DIVINES NEWS
This Saturday: Sweet D's and DSRB Behind NOLA Legend Tami Lynn
While you wait anxiously for the next Sweet Divines show, don't miss this opportunity to see the your favorite soulful ladies and gents backing Tami Lynn at Brooklyn venue / soul food restaurant The Five Spot.
Tami has had a quietly amazing career as a singer, with two big hits ("I'm Gonna Run Away From You" and the Jerry Wexler-produced "Mojo Hannah") and a mile-long resume that includes stints with Allen Toussaint and Dr. John, and backing vocal credits on the Rolling Stones' "Exile on Main Street."
It happens Saturday at midnight. More details on the SHOWS PAGE....

This Thursday May 1st: Guest Appearance at THE BOX
This Thursday: The Sweet Divines and band will be at Lower East Side “it” venue The Box, doing a mini-set as special guests of the Cracked Society Revue.
Hosted by The Little Death, (NYC rock n roll act that doubles as Moby's backing band and also features him on bass), the Cracked Society Revue is described as “a night of nasty blues, libidinous Euro-trash, bad behavior, liquor soaked floors, & several reasons to avoid looking in the mirror the next morning.”
Ticket prices are appropriately decadent at $25 for general admission ($50 table tickets are sold out!), and you can find them at TicketWeb.
So if you have a little cash to burn and feel like getting fancy in a trashy sorta way (or vice versa), come out and represent!

Divine Soul Rhythm Band to back Maxine Brown & Baby Washington!
Fans at our last Union Hall show got a special announcement:
TheDivine Soul Rhythm Band, the trusty instrumentalists behind the Sweet Divines, have been recruited to serve as the backing for two legendary ladies of soul, Maxine Brown (our guest last weekend) and Baby Washington. Our boys will be playing a set behind each singer, including some songs not performed since they were originally recorded in the 1960s at Muscle Shoals and other such hallowed halls. This will be a rare night of real-deal, honest-to-goodness rhythm-and-blues.
The Sweet Divines are jealous, but only a little! Knock 'em dead fellas.
The show is happening June 7 at Joe's Pub. Tickets are already on sale here.
